The motor home is assembled directly on the vehicle chassis. The driver area is completely incorporated into the living area. This situation offers many advantages, even if the solidity of the structure raises some doubts.
The aerodynamic coefficient is good and better than the motor caravan. A negative aspect is the width of the structure because it is considerably wider than the original van. This sometimes produces a manifest and irritating rolling effect.
As for the motor caravan, side wind is a problem for the motor home.
The wide glazed surface of the driver area allows a good visibility to passengers sitting in the back too.
The wide glazed surface makes the vehicle well-lit, but very hot during a hot summer day.
On the road, this vehicle is almost perfect:
good aerodynamic coefficient, adequate cruising speed, etc and it is easier to drive
than the motor caravan, but sometimes there is no right door in the driver area.
Off the road, the living area includes the driver area, the vehicle's services are complete, but the beds are not all ready made and it is possible to use the balancing bed only when off the road.
The motor home is suitable for a crew of a few people.
It is very comfortable while travelling on the motorway, but it is difficult to drive in the city and principally in traffic and while manoeuvring, because the driver's position (is further back in comparison with the original van) and the considerable dimensions of the vehicle.
The heavy weight of the vehicle means that the driver needs to drive as carefully as when driving a motor caravan.
